BIOGRAPHY

DRAZ'OHV'INADAX
every time we fall to pieces
we build something new out of the hurt
TL;DR
As one of the rare chiss to develop Force sensitivity, Zohvin fled from home as a child and ended up among the Jedi, who took the strange alien in and made him one of their own. As the cold war between the Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic become increasingly strained, the discovery of other chiss among the Empire's troops lead to Zohvin accepting a dangerous assignment: to go undercover within the Empire and feed back as much useful information to the Jedi and their allies as he could.

Zohvin spent a few years undercover before his skills got him noticed by Sith Intelligence - not as a traitor, but as a potential recruit. After secretly suppressing his Force abilities with an implant, Zohvin was given basic training and transferred to work as an assistant to a Darth named Vacarius, with no one the wiser... at least at first. Though Zohvin retrieved a lot of valuable information in his new position, the game was made all the more complicated when Zohvin broke one of the Jedi's strictest rules by falling in love with Vacarius. As they became closer, Zohvin's position became increasingly dangerous, as the knowledge of a spy in their midst left Vacarious all the more closer to discovering his true identity.

Then, before the worst could happen, Zohvin was whisked away to another world. Though he's managed to escape from a terrible fate, Zohvin is sure of one thing - he's not going back to the Jedi if he can help it. In the meantime, he keeps up the pretense of being an average low-level Imperial agent, leery of what might happen should his past manage to follow him.

Appearance
All it takes is a quick glance to see that Zohvin isn't human, given his unusual coloring and faintly glowing, practically solid red eyes. His skin is a cyan shade and absolutely covered in dark blue freckles, while his hair is medium blue, worn straight and cut to just above his shoulders. He has a long face that's offset by a strong jaw and high cheekbones.

Zohvin is also quite tall at 6'4", and lanky to boot, but the amount of muscle on his build speaks to the strict training regimen he maintains. He's quite soft-spoken simply as a consequence of his native language, but speaks Standard with a hint of a British accent. Though he'll arrive in the game wearing an Imperial uniform, Zohvin prefers to blend in when possible and will adopt whatever fashions the locals prefer.
Personality
Zohvin likes to present himself as a cool, collected individual and usually manages to pull it off, quite adept at playing up his reserved nature to make it look like he has everything under control. The combination of years spent undercover and his growing personal doubts have left him unwilling to trust many people, and that makes him an extremely duplicitous person who lies as easily as he breathes. He might act like a friend or ally, but by and large he seeks to gather people around himself either for protection, resources, or information - assuming pesky, unwanted feelings don't get involved.

Chiss culturally value logic and rational thought, and Zohvin has combined this outlook with the Jedi ideal of mastering emotions to the point that he has become very good at boxing up his own emotions and ignoring them. He's only began to acknowledge his own emotions - and trust that they're genuine - thanks to Vacarius' influence. It's rare to see Zohvin smile or laugh, and his humor is sardonic and often subtle, but that doesn't mean he's a bad conversationalist. In fact, Zohvin's a great listener; he's already heard enough dirt on Imperials during parties to make for some stellar blackmail material.

One of Zohvin's greatest strengths is that he's an incredibly driven individual, sometimes to the point of exhaustion. Zohvin will always be harder on himself than he could ever be towards anyone else, since if he isn't giving everything 110%, he's not working hard enough. It's a testament to his willpower that he willingly shut himself off from the Force - an experience often described like going blind - all to make sure it couldn't give him away to his enemies. On the other hand, though Zohvin is certainly clever, he doesn't have much in the way of book smarts. He's more of a jack-of-trades and not truly a master at any one subject. He's also not very well-rounded beyond what he's been taught of his 'profession', beyond a couple of personal hobbies he's picked up.

Zohvin is no fan of the Empire, but living in a less emotionally-repressed society has made Zohvin realize what he's missed by being with the Jedi - things that most people take for granted, like having the freedom to love someone, to want things, or to be justifiably angry over his past mistreatment. He craves positive contact and validation far more than he'd ever let on, which has made it much easier for other people to sway or manipulate him once they get under his shell. Zohvin hasn't fallen to the Dark Side, but he's been slipping for some time now. It's by virtue of the loss of his powers that Zohvin's teetering on the precipice has only been made apparent by uncharacteristic periods of moodiness and occasional emotional outbursts. Zohvin still considers himself a Jedi despite his complicated feelings on the matter, which also means that he usually avoids causing harm or killing... most of the time. His morality is much more flexible than it used to be.
Abilities
Spy Training: Zohvin has been trained not only as a Shadow within the Jedi order, but had additional pointers from Republic SIS agents and another round of training from the Empire's Sith Intelligence agency for good measure. What makes Zohvin so good at his job isn't so much that he's a Jedi, but that he's clever, observant, and has the experience to back up his practical knowledge. On the other hand, being so flexible means that he's not a master at any of these skills, and could easily be outclassed by a specialist.

His most notable strengths in the spy department involve stealth, infiltration, intelligence gathering, and hacking/slicing. When it comes to stealth, Zohvin often relies on using the Force or personal cloaking technology, but even without it he knows how to avoid notice, step softly, and blend into a crowd. As for his hacking, he often had to use programs and cracking tools to make a real difference when needing to access high-security areas, meaning that without those tools he can't make much headway on his own. He's still proficient with not only basic technology but also more specialized systems like those used for surveillance or defense purposes.

Combat: When it comes to his combat capabilities, Zohvin has decent knowledge of hand-to-hand combat, blasters, common explosives, and lightsabers/vibroblades. It's when he's using a double-bladed lightsaber or electrostaff that he's a far more deadly opponent, close to an expert level. Zohvin is an agile fighter who prefers stealth and ambush tactics. He's no slouch in direct combat, but is at a disadvantage in prolonged fights or against enemies that can pin him down in one place. Zohvin is unlikely to win any battles based on pure strength.

The Force: If he were to be ranked on his Force abilities, Zohvin would be considered average for a Jedi - he's not the most powerful by any means, and his training mostly focused on the more subtle uses a Shadow would require. However, Zohvin's turn away from Jedi teachings and years using a Force-blocking implant has made his use of the Force unstable should these be returned to him in any capacity. Returning to stable control would require basically relearning meditation and self-discipline techniques in a process that could take months or even years.

Just having the Force restored imparts being able to sense it; this would make Zohvin able to detect nearby living things, feel their emotional state, and to detect other Force-sensitive beings along with whether they're aligned to the Light or Dark sides.

Other uses of the Force will be limited to individual applications of power: brute force telekinesis, using the Force for increased awareness and agility, mind tricks of the persuasion variety, and mild precognition (including sensing danger but also involving a sense of the 'right' turn to make down a hallway or the best place to hide). His specialized training as a Shadow adds two techniques: a Force Cloak that renders him invisible, and brief bursts of inhuman speed. (For the purpose of buying back powers I will assume all of these must be purchased separately).

In general, small and subtle uses of the Force take little effort, and larger or longer uses take much greater concentration. It's easier to lift a pebble than a boulder, and remaining invisible for too long is tiring as Force Cloak requires constant concentration. Using the Force for persuasive 'mind tricks' in particular only works on the weak-willed, akin to hypnotism.

Chiss Physiology: Chiss are a near-human species that have a lower body temperature and higher metabolism than most humans. Originating from an icy planet, they have a better tolerance to freezing temperatures. Chiss can also see in the dark better than humans thanks to their eye structure. On the flip side, chiss age faster, meaning a 10 year old chiss is equivalent to a 20-year-old human. They rarely live past 80.
History
Hailing from a minor planet in the distant Chiss Ascendancy, Zohvin had a dismal childhood. With emotionally abusive parents who expected perfection, Zohvin was already struggling to rise to their demands when he started to show signs of being Force sensitive. As rare as it was, the Ascendancy viewed the Force as an aberration to either be controlled or removed - but Zohvin feared for his life more from his parents than from the law. Whether it was luck or the Force that lead him to stow away on a smuggler's ship, they were sympathetic enough to leave him far from home on the planet Ilum. A number of Jedi happened to already be on the planet, and so Zohvin was handed off to a healer named Trelor who subsequently took him under his wing.

Zohvin spent the rest of his childhood and teenage years training with the Jedi, proving himself a capable student after a good dose of therapy. It wasn't easy, but even a strict regimen was better than where he came from. He eventually graduated as a full-fledged Jedi with specialized Shadow training, normally intended for use in hunting down hidden Sith artifacts. However, with more and more chiss being encountered by the Republic as the Galactic War began, it became apparent to Zohvin's superiors that there was a far more advantageous way to use his skills.

With the (somewhat begrudging) assistance of the Republic's Strategic Information Service, Zohvin was provided with some good forged documents and the means to slip into Empire territory as a new recruit from the Ascendancy. He ended up in the police force on one of the Empire's outer planets, where he had easy access to both information and Force-sensitive aliens he was able to sneak out of the Empire. What he hadn't planned on was for the Empire's newly-reformed Sith Intelligence agency to approach him - not with accusations, but with a job offer. They were in need of new recruits between the agency's restructuring and the war effort, and seeing it as a high-risk, high-reward opportunity, Zohvin accepted the job... though not before having a medical implant installed to block his use of the Force completely.

It was difficult to adjust to being blind to the Force, but it also made him seem as normal as any other being without it, and kept nearby Sith from sniffing him out. After going through basic Imperial spy training, Zohvin was assigned to work as an assistant to Darth Vacarius, a young Sith Pureblood who had recently gained his position through his power and skill as a military commander. Vacarius was a bruiser through and through, talented on the battlefield but woefully inadequate when it came to subtlety or politics. Zohvin often had to be his eyes and ears in such matters, as well as a voice of reason, and Vacarius soon came to respect his abilities. It became more obvious that there were other things Vacarius respected when he haltingly asked Zohvin out on a date. Once again, Zohvin took a leap in accepting another risky opportunity, taking advantage of their closer relationship to send back everything he could ferret out to the SIS. Matters became infinitely more complicated once Zohvin found himself falling for Vacarius in return.

Sith Intelligence already suspected that they had a Republic spy in their midst, between Zohvin's meddling and his SIS handler making riskier moves against the Empire. Over the next year, Zohvin's position became increasingly shaky, until Vacarius sniffed out a base on Yavin 4 that Zohvin used to transmit information back to the SIS. Vacarius destroyed the computers and information in a fit of rage, coming back with little information, except for a holovid of a masked Zohvin that confirmed there was a Jedi operating within the Empire. Zohvin was soon after captured by a bounty hunter under suspicion of being that very Jedi, a fate he escaped by managing to talk the hunter into contacting Vacarius, who quickly showed up to retrieve his underling. Later, in a meeting with his SIS handler, Zohvin learned that Sith Intelligence was rapidly closing in on them, making him reluctantly agree that an extraction was necessary.

It's just as his lies are crumbling around him that Zohvin is whisked away to another world, saving him from a life-altering decision but leaving him stranded without resources in alien territory.
